The Fonds pour l'Arbre was created by a resolution of the Divonne-les-Bains Town Council on January 7, 2010, with the aim of enhancing the local natural heritage by encouraging the planting of trees that are remarkable for their beauty, environmental impact and health benefits. The Tree Fund operates solely on donations received. As an endowment fund, the Fonds pour l'Arbre can also issue a tax certificate entitling donors to a 66% tax reduction on the amount of the donation.

The three main objectives of the fund are :

Support for the strategic and innovative planting of remarkable trees
Partnerships with international organizations for the study and development of forward-looking techniques
Support for scientific research in plant engineering
