The water of Divonne-les-Bains
Whether Roman, Burgundian, Germanic or Savoyard, Divonne-les-Bains, with its outstanding position between Mont Blanc and the Jura, has been known by many names since the 1st century BC. However, it is above all its exceptional character as a town of water that has attracted so much attention. It's no coincidence that Divona is Latin for divine water.
Divonne-les-Bains’ water is pure and light, and contains fluoride, calcium and magnesium, among other minerals. It's the perfect companion for those who want to recharge their batteries. Its mineral and thermal qualities are particularly effective against the stresses of modern life.
Thermal spring water
After 10 years in the Hauterivian limestone, the water is tapped at a depth of 124 metres and gushes out perfectly pure and naturally cold. The water from the Paul Morel spring - which supplies the spa establishment - is of exceptional purity, lightness and mineral balance (calcium, magnesium, fluoride).
Since the resort was founded in 1848 by Doctor Paul Vidart, who discovered the therapeutic benefits of Divonne-les-Bains’ water, it has successfully been used to treat psychosomatic ailments and rheumatology since 2018. This spa combines the benefits of a traditional spa treatment with those of modern fitness. The thermal baths are currently closed, all the information on Les thermes de Divonne-les-Bains. Mineral water
Divonne-les-Bains water was recognised as a mineral water by a decree issued by the Ministry of Health on 31 May 1994 for its natural virtues, its quality - it is a water of exceptional purity - and the quantity of the resource available.
Springs and fountains
Divonne is supplied by around thirty springs: Emma, Vidart, Barbilaine, Ausone and many others make up the history of our town.
Divonne-les-Bains also has a wealth of fountains and pools of all shapes and sizes scattered throughout the town and its hamlets.
