With “Cinderella,” Julien Lestel presents a contemporary reinterpretation of the famous fairy tale.
The story unfolds in an oppressive professional environment, where the heroine endures domination and harassment.
Through intense dance, the ballet highlights psychological violence and the quest for emancipation. The fairy godmother becomes an inner voice, a symbol of conscience and transformation.
The Prince, a modern figure, embodies a sensitive partner rather than a savior.
Sergei Prokofiev’s music, interwoven with the sounds of Iván Julliard, reinforces this contemporary interpretation.
