These three works by choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, including one premiere, highlight the coherence and strength of an extraordinary choreographic style, whose first creations were created almost forty years ago.
In this revival of two of his most famous choreographies, Angelin Preljocaj revives a gesture that has lost none of its power. The nuptial and funereal ritual of "Noces", set to music by Stravinsky, unleashes real and artificial bodies to exorcise fears and sublimate the banal barbarity of weddings. With "Annunciation", set to music by Vivaldi, Angelin Preljocaj questions the sacred moment of the Immaculate Conception: in a pas de deux between the angel and the Virgin, the carnal power of this episode in the mysteries of faith is revealed. As if to question more than ever the meaning of the union of body and spirit.
